Winner of IIDA TX OK Excellence in Design award, Finalist for IIDA’s Will Ching Design Competition, and an Honoree for Interior Design’s Best of Year award: The original location of the Minyard grocery store chain, the 16,000 square foot building was built in the 1960’s. Agent Architecture has redesigned this building to serve as a model facility for 3 and 4 year old students. Inside, it features 10 classrooms, each with abundant natural light, and common learning, reading, and activity spaces. The site, which was predominantly a surface parking lot, has been converted into a large outdoor play and learning environment. Agent collaborated with Landscape Architect Delineator Design, who created the design of this dynamic outdoor space.
Located in the center of a historic East Dallas neighborhood, this new facility brings new life and activity to a formerly disused corner and aims to be a true asset to its community.
